Berlin, Germany – September 30th, 2024: As Oktoberfest celebrations kick off, foodora, leading food delivery service in CEE and the Nordics, reveals an evolving trend in beer consumption across Europe, with alcohol-free beer gaining significant traction among consumers in several key markets, growing at a faster rate than traditional beer, indicating a shift towards healthier choices by some of its customers.
The varying trends across these regions demonstrate the complexity of consumer attitudes towards alcohol-free options, the CEE region being more inclined to test this option vs the Nordics:
Meanwhile, in the Nordics, consumer habits reveal a diverse outlook: While Finland does have a growing interest in alcohol-free beer, with a 12% increase in consumption, Sweden remains relatively stable, with a modest 2% growth in the alcohol-free category. Norway, however, shows a different trend, with alcohol-free beer consumption decreasing by 26%, while regular beer saw a notable 30% increase year over year.
